Which tax forms Crypto.com sends
According to Crypto.com’s FAQ on 1099 forms for the 2025 tax year, a U.S. person may receive:
- Form 1099-DA for reportable transactions such as sales, exchanges, and other dispositions of digital assets from a Crypto.com account. See What is Form 1099-DA?
- Form 1099-MISC for $600 or more in rewards during the year from Lock-Ups, Earn, Referrals, and certain other activities.
- Form 1099-B if you traded contracts, such as regulated futures and options.
Crypto.com notes that different transaction types can each meet a threshold, so receiving several forms for one year is normal.
Where to find your Crypto.com tax forms
- Check your email, not the app. Crypto.com says the forms arrive by email from no-reply@crypto.com to the latest address on record, with a link to download them.
- Look in spam or junk if the email is missing.
- Ask In-App Chat for a paper copy, or if you think a form is wrong, missing, or issued in error.
Save the downloaded forms with your records for the year.
What the 2025 Form 1099-DA shows
Crypto.com says cost basis was not required on the 2025 form and that it chose not to report basis during this transitional period. Its FAQ lists these fields:
- Box 1a: the Digital Token Identification Foundation (DTIF) code for the asset.
- Boxes 1b and 1c: the asset name and the number of units disposed of.
- Box 1e: the date sold or disposed. It may be blank when the form reports stablecoins as one aggregate amount for the year.
- Box 1f: proceeds in USD, minus fees.
So the 2025 form gives you proceeds, not gains. The purchase side has to come from your own history. For 2026 and later, the IRS instructions require basis only for covered assets acquired after 2025, so check what your 2026 form shows and expect older or transferred-in coins to stay blank.
What happened to Crypto.com Tax
Crypto.com’s own tax calculator is closed. According to Crypto.com’s notice, Crypto.com Tax was deprecated on June 25, 2024. Existing users can still log in to the portal to retrieve old reports, and Crypto.com points users to its partners Koinly and TokenTax.
If you relied on Crypto.com Tax in earlier years, download those reports now and keep them with your records.
Export your history: App and Exchange are separate
- Crypto.com App. Crypto.com’s App export guide covers the Token Wallet, Cash Wallet, and Crypto.com Visa card as CSV files. Each report can cover up to 3 years, and a generated report stays downloadable for 30 days.
- Crypto.com Exchange. The Exchange export guide lists wallet transactions, deposits and withdrawals, and order and trade history from November 1, 2022. Wallet transactions export up to one month at a time, other reports up to six months, with a 65,000-record limit per report.
Export every account and every period you used, then check that the files cover the whole year with no gaps between date ranges.
What the forms do not show
- The purchase side of 2025 sales. No basis was reported, so acquisition records come from your exports.
- Self-custody wallets. Under the IRS instructions, a provider that only supplies software for you to control your own keys is not acting as a broker for that activity, so do not expect a form for a self-custody wallet such as Crypto.com Onchain.
- Transfers and other platforms. Moving crypto between your own accounts is not a sale, and each exchange reports only its own activity.
The IRS states that digital asset income, gains, and losses must be reported whether or not you receive a form, so these gaps are filled from your own records.
If Crypto.com does not match your software
- Compare proceeds first. One platform, one year; the Form 1099-DA mismatch guide lists the usual causes.
- Stablecoin totals look different? An aggregate stablecoin amount on the form will not line up row by row with your software; compare the yearly total instead.
- Purchases missing? Trace them in the App and Exchange exports; see missing crypto cost basis.
- Transfers counted as sales? See wallet transfer reconciliation.

When a records review can help
If your Crypto.com history spans the App, the Exchange, and other wallets, or the 2025 form leaves the purchase side open, Elena’s 1099-DA reconciliation review compares the forms with your exports and documents what explains each difference, within an agreed scope. Tax advice, return preparation, and filing are not included.
For your first inquiry, list the tax year, the Crypto.com products you used, and any other exchanges or wallets.
